I had such a great time speaking to students at Cameron Elementary School. These amazing students really impressed me with their level of interest and desire to learn. We talked about what it’s like being a Member of Parliament both in our community and in Ottawa, what happens on Parliament Hill, and how to be an engaged young person. I believe that it is an essential thing to educate students from a young age about the importance of political participation and democracy. The earlier we learn, the more likely we are to vote and get involved when we’re older.
